This soup tureen in the Peacock pattern (56) is handmade by Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec in Bolesławiec, Poland. The "peacock eye" motif is one of the oldest and most recognizable Boleslawiec designs, stamped by hand so the placement and color depth vary slightly from piece to piece.
A covered tureen turns a pot of soup into a centerpiece and keeps it warm through second helpings. This piece holds 13.4 cups / 3.17 qt. / 3 liters, measures 8 3/8" across and stands 8.5" tall.
The factory stamp on the base marks it as authentic Boleslawiec stoneware. It is lead- and cadmium-free and safe for the dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer.
