Ferment the traditional way with this handcrafted Polish Pottery fermenting crock featuring the beautiful Peacock pattern, made by Zaklady Boleslawiec in Boleslawiec, Poland. The water-seal airlock lid keeps oxygen out while letting fermentation gases escape, making it perfect for larger batches of sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, and other cultured foods. Durable, lead-free Polish stoneware that combines old-world craftsmanship with everyday function. Enjoy the timeless beauty and quality of authentic Boleslawiec pottery.
Handmade by Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec in Bolesławiec, Poland, this fermenting crock is decorated in the Peacock pattern (56). The "peacock eye" motif is one of the oldest and most recognizable Boleslawiec designs, stamped by hand so the placement and color depth vary slightly from piece to piece.
It's built for sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles; the water-seal rim lets gases escape while keeping air out. It holds 3.6 liter / 3.8 quart and stands 9" (with lid) tall.
The stoneware is dense and durable with a lead- and cadmium-free glaze, and the factory stamp on the base marks it as authentic Boleslawiec pottery.
It is a welcome gift for anyone who collects Polish pottery. Browse other Peacock pattern pieces or our full range of fermenting crocks to build a coordinated set.
