This fermenting crock in the Star Flower pattern (221a) is handmade by Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec in Bolesławiec, Poland. The design is applied by hand with small sponge stamps and brushwork, so each piece varies slightly and no two are exactly alike.
It's built for sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles; the water-seal rim lets gases escape while keeping air out. It holds 3.6 liter / 3.8 quart and stands 9" (with lid) tall.
The stoneware is dense and durable with a lead- and cadmium-free glaze, and the factory stamp on the base marks it as authentic Boleslawiec pottery.
It is an easy gift for housewarmings, weddings, and Polish pottery collectors. Browse other Star Flower pattern pieces or our full range of fermenting crocks to build a coordinated set.
