Decorated in the Spring Swallow Serenade pattern (du182), this French butter dish comes from the Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec factory in Bolesławiec, Poland. The design is applied by hand with small sponge stamps and brushwork, so each piece varies slightly and no two are exactly alike.
The French butter bell keeps butter soft and spreadable on the counter, sealed by a little water in the base. The French butter dish holds 7 ½ oz, measures 4 ¼" across and stands 4 ¼" tall.
The stoneware is dense and durable with a lead- and cadmium-free glaze, and the factory stamp on the base marks it as authentic Boleslawiec pottery.
