Decorated in the Peacock pattern (56), this kitchen canister comes from the Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec factory in Bolesławiec, Poland. The "peacock eye" motif is one of the oldest and most recognizable Boleslawiec designs, stamped by hand so the placement and color depth vary slightly from piece to piece.
Canisters keep dry goods close at hand and add color to a countertop. It holds 1 ½ Qt. / 6 cups (45 oz.), measures 5 ¼" across and stands 9" (with lid) tall.
The stoneware is dense and durable with a lead- and cadmium-free glaze, and the factory stamp on the base marks it as authentic Boleslawiec pottery.
